Device address

The device address a.k.a. the MAC address (a.k.a. the Ethernet address, the physical address) is an answer-back code that identifies the device connected to the network. Each device that is connected to the university network has its own MAC address and, based on it, the device is given an IP address. Before the registration of the MAC address, you cannot access the network. The MAC address consists of twelve characters which are in groups of two.
